1. GIFs from YouTube videos
It’s simple to make an animated GIF from a portion of a YouTube video. Here are the steps for you –
Open the YouTube video which you would like and in the address bar of the browser, add the text ‘gif’ before YouTube (it should read gify youtube. com). The site will direct you to another webpage on which you can select up to a 15 second clip from it to convert to GIF.
After selecting the animation time, you will get the page where you can put text and stickers. All done, your GIF is ready! 🙂
2. Playback from a specific time
You may share a video with playback starting at a set time. When posting, search for the ‘Start at’ box. Check it and enter a time.
Here is the example for you –
If you want to run the playback for 2 minutes and 10 seconds then add ‘? t=2m10s’ to the end of a brief URL.
3. TV Mode
You can watch videos from long distance with your a home theatre PC as YouTube has TV mode available in it. You can watch videos even if you are 8 or 10 feet away from the screen.
Just enter ‘http:www.youtube.comtv’ in your browser to launch the TV mode. This mode can be controlled using keyboard. You can access various types of videos in TV mode.
When you will enter the Escape key on the key board to go back to main menu. If you forget the keys then don’t worry, there is hand-keyboard icon in right side of page.

When you will add this extension in your web browser then you will get options like volume control using scroll wheel, force HD video playback, hide the advertisement, bypass country restrictions, enable cinema mode as well as you can boost the video loading speed.
5. Keyboard shortcut
You can use left, right arrow keys to jump back and forward video while watching it.
- You can use ‘K’to pause or play
- Use key ‘J’ and ‘L’ to rewind and forward by 10 seconds
- Press ‘F’ for full screen
- ‘M’ key to mute
- Use updown arrow to adjust volume
- Number keys 1 to 9 are for scrub through the video
6. Save for offline (app only)
You can save video for offline viewing in your iOS and Android phone. You have to simply tap on the button offline viewing ‘Add to Offline’. The video will be downloaded and saved in MyVideo section of YouTube.
